New Google Cloud Cybersecurity Certificate training released

The Google Cloud Cybersecurity Certificate was first launched in May 2023 and has quickly become a top-desired certificate across the cybersecurity field. With over 448,000 cybersecurity job openings, cyber remains a top tech career path. Google Cloud’s certificates are an affordable way to upskill existing cyber professionals or assist those in a career transition. Now, after the Google Cloud Next 2024 event, Google has released new introductory training courses.

How to earn the Google Cloud Cybersecurity Certificate

The certificate learning path is available now on Google Cloud Skills Boost. Skills Boost is an online training portal owned and operated by Google and covers cloud technologies from introductory to expert.

“Beginner: Google Cloud Cybersecurity Certificate” training requires minimal Skills Boost credits and is available for anyone to take. To enroll in the courses, you can register for the cybersecurity certificate learning path and subscribe to a monthly or annual plan or purchase individual credits.

The new training is spread out across five categories and courses:

  1. Introduction to Security Principles in Cloud Computing (18 hours 15 minutes)
  2. Strategies for Cloud Security Risk Management (21 hours 45 minutes)
  3. Cloud Security Risks: Identify and Protect Against Threats (28 hours)
  4. Detect, Respond, and Recover from Cloud Cybersecurity Attacks (26 hours 15 minutes)
  5. Put It All Together: Prepare for a Cloud Security Analyst Job (11 hours)

All courses can be completed virtually to satisfy the certificate requirements. After completing all course segments, participants can immediately obtain the new certificate for “Beginner: Google Cloud Cybersecurity.”

Alternatively, you could complete the necessary training on Coursera, which also allows participants to earn the certificate upon completion.
